1.  I started out this project by taking multiple portraits and picking the one that I enjoyed the most. I then imported the portrait into photoshop a cut it out using the magic wand tool. Then I saved images that best represented me and arranged them into an order that I liked I added borders and masks to put in more details. I finished the collage by brushing over the whole thing with an added dotted brush to somewhat give a grain effect. ​

2. Blend modes: I used a blend mode to make the border around the portrait transparent. 

 Layer masks:  I used multiple layer masks, You can see his with he picture of Aaliyah, Riley from The Boondocks, The man performing a fire dance, and the shampoo bottles. 

    

4. The man performing the fire dance represents my Samoan Culture. The picture of Brent and Aaliyah shows my love for both throwback and the new RnB. The makeup represents my new interest i beauty. And the picture in the top right represents my love for travel. The whole color palette has a variety of greens and browns to show my appreciation for Earth Tones.

I believe that my project exceeds expectations because I used extra tools to add more to my collage. For example, I used the brush tool, to add a slightly grainy effect.
